Christmas Project Parade - Day 20

Sadly, we have come to the last day of my Christmas Project Parade. I certainly haven't run out of Christmas ideas, but with my daughter's birthday, a friends wedding, and the new baby's room to decorate, I have to move on to some other projects. So without further ado, here is the last project.
Kitchen Condiments Gift Basket

Photobucket
This is the gift that we are giving family members this year. Inspired by some of the wonderful culinary creations in Nigella Lawson's Nigella Christmas, I have made 3 different condiments and packaged them up in matching jars with vintage style labels. The gift basket will also include a little stamped recipe card for each item, giving ideas on how to use them.

Christmas Project Parade - Day 19

We are nearly at the end of the Christmas Project Parade, only 2 more projects to share!

Treat Hangers

Photobucket
I wanted a cute way to hang some chocolate Freddo's from the Christmas tree for any young friends that visit. The great thing about these little treat hangers is that they can be made to fit any kind of treat that you like, plus you can decorate them all the same, or mix it up for variety. They would also be a great way of using up the scraps from your other Christmas projects!

Materials
Stamps: Flower for all Seasons, Season of Joy
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon, Real Red, Old Olive, Real Rust, Going Grey

Christmas Project Parade - Day 18

Emboss Resist Christmas Card

Photobucket

I love this motif from the Friends 24/7 stamp set, and think it makes a great elegant Christmas image. I stamped the image repeatedly on Glossy White cardstock with versamark ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. The last step was to sponge Real Red ink over the entire piece. I didn't want the red to be completely uniform so added more ink in a few places and less in others.

Materials
Stamps: Friends 24/7, Many Merry Messages
Cardstock: Glossy White, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Versamark
Other: Clear EP, White EP, Scallop Edge Punch, White Taffeta Ribbon, Sponge

Christmas Project Parade - Day 17

Pyramid Gift Box

Photobucket

A fun pyramid shaped gift box perfect for holding a small gift (like jewellery!). You can make these boxes any size you like so long as the base of your box is a perfect square. I added some silver embossing for an elegant extra touch and finished it off with a piece of Hodgepodge Hardware. You could even hang these boxes from the tree by just changing the way you tie the ribbon.

Christmas Project Parade - Day 14

Decorative Candle Stand

Photobucket

Our Designer Series Papers are absolutely perfect for this project, as you get to see both sides of the paper on display at once! This project looks quite complex but is actually not that tricky.
I started with a thick chipboard coaster which I covered with gold paper.

You will then need to cut a pile of DSP pieces in the shape of boats. Mine measured 4cm wide and were 10cm along the top and 7cm along the bottom.

Form each boat into a cone shape and adhere it in place. It is best to turn the bottom under a little as this helps them keep their shape.

Once you have several cones made start adhereing them around the edge of your covered coaster. Then add an extra 2 layers inside the first. I placed my candle in the centre before I adhered my cones to make sure I was getting them in the right place.

Materials
Cardstock: Holiday Treasures DSP, Gold Brushed Metallic
Other: Chipboard coaster, Sticky Strip

Christmas Project Parade - Day 13

Carousel Cone Place Setting

Photobucket

This project was inspired by a Halloween project that Shelli Gardner shared in our last demonstrator magazine Impressions. To make this I simply took one of our Carousel Notes and lined half of it with DSP. I then rolled it into a cone shape and adhered using Sticky Strip, before decorating with a fan-fold flower and Curly Label. As you can see I have used the cone as a place setting, but you could just as easily add a ribbon handle and hang it from the Christmas Tree filled with candy canes!

Materials
Stamps: Cute & Curly
Cardstock: Whisper White, Carousel Notes, Ski Slope DSP
Ink: Real Red
Other: Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, Curly Label Punch

Christmas Project Parade - Day 12

Well we have made it to Day 12, which is where I stopped last year...BUT don't worry there are still several more days of this years Christmas Project Parade to go because I am having just too much fun!! I hope you are all enjoying it as much as me.

Bright, Funky Christmas Card

Photobucket

This card is quite a departure from my normal Christmas colours! I am just kind of a traditional Christmas colour girl and certainly my Christmas decor is all pretty much in red, green & gold. But it was certainly fun to mix it up a little with this card, and I have to say the combo is really growing on me!
The background was achieved by stamping one of the images from Frames with A Flourish repeatedly using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. The idea was inspired by this tutorial from Dawn McVey. I absolutely love Dawn's cards - they are some of the prettiest you will find anywhere! Her blog is definitely worth the visit if you haven't seen it before.

Materials
Stamps: Frames with a Flourish, Season of Joy
Cardstock: Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Pixie Pink, Old Olive
Other: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Supernova Glitter, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/16" Circle Punch

This is another of the great projects from Claire Daly's Christmas in July class. I love the vintage look of the tags, and they are also a really great way of using up those small scraps of DSP you have lying around. This folder full of pre-made tags would make a great pre-Christmas gift!

This is one of those ideas that just popped into my head one night while I was trying to go to sleep, and then I couldn't get it out of my head until I actually sat down to make it several days later! Does anyone else get that late night/early morning inspiration? I thought these little sleighs would be great dotted around the house offering different Christmas treats to anyone wishing to partake!

Simple & Elegant Christmas Card

Photobucket

This card was inspired by a mass-produced card I saw in a local store. Although this card is very simple in design, the background did take a bit of time to stamp. The scalloped motif comes from the gorgeous I Wish Simply Scrapping Kit.

I love stacks of little gift boxes all tied up with ribbon - you just can't help but wonder what could be in them! These boxes are quick to make from just a square of cardstock, and can be made any size you need. You can make them from cardstock (either plain or stamped) or Designer Series Paper. Once you have your boxes all you need is some gorgeous ribbon to tie them up with, and I don't think you could get much prettier than this striped 1 1/4" grosgrain!

I hope you are all enjoying the parade so far! I am certainly enjoying creating the projects and sharing them with you!

Gift Card Holder

Score along the long edge at 45mm, 124mm, 203mm
Punch a semi circle from the last section using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch
Apply sticky strip along the bottom short edge and fold up to seal card pocket
Decorate as wished!

Cardstock: Real Red Textured, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
